I’m just kidding (1:36) = I’m just joking

Go off on a tangent= start talking about something unrelated to the original topic

To be intertwined (4:20)= to be interconnected

Intriguing (4:32)= interesting

Astounding (5:12)= incredible

Peak one’s curiosity (5:54)= incite one’s curiosity; make someone curious about something

To be blown away by something (informal) (6:09) = to be very surprised in a positive way by something

To spark an interest( 6:48)= to create an interest

to pick up on a language (10:55) = to acquire a language naturally; begin to understand it

To open up doors (12:03) ( figurative)= to give you opportunities

To step out of something( 12:46)= to displace yourself from somewhere

To be in the midst of doing something(13:16) = to be in the process of doing something

(13:20) My program refers to International Relations as International Studies, although it is more or less the same thing.

To stick around ( 15:56) = to stay
