Some Questions to Ask Yourself


Within what timeframe do I want to learn this language?



Why am I learning this language in particular?



Who am I going to speak this language with? For example at work with colleagues, with my friends at the bar, with my partner's family in California



Where do I intend to use this language? ^



How do I think I'm going to be able to learning this language? What kind of learner am I? What do I most enjoy?





Most Difficult Words and Expressions


To be into something (informal) 1:47= to be interested in something.


To learn something from scratch (3:10)= to learn something new without any previous knowledge of it.


To drop (informal) (3:50)= to decrease


To figure out ( colloquial) (4:30)= to determine


To be intertwined (5:25)= to be interconnected


Along the way (5:45)= during the process


To the tee (informal, figurative) (5:51)= precisely, without deviation


Daunting (6:01)= intimidatingly challenging


To amount (6:40) = to result in, add up to


Rewarding (10:30)= gratifying


Pay off (10:40)= be worth it



Remember


1.) What is your motivation?



2.) Define your goal



3.) Create a plan, put in place a series of habits that coincide with your goal



4.) Be adaptable, make changes when necessary



5.) Be flexible, find a balance between flexibility and being proactive



6.) Recognize the fact that you will fail, make mistakes and embarrass yourself. Find pleasure in the struggle and keep pushing yourself :)
